Developing Clinical Skills in HIV/AIDS

(For clinicians licensed in Florida, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands only.)

Preceptorships provide extensive clinical training and supervised experiences in urban and rural clinics throughout the region by allowing physicians, dentists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists to learn more about the diagnosis, early management, and ongoing treatment of HIV.

Experience 8 to 80 hours of clinical training at adult, adolescent, pediatric, obstetric, or family practice clinics caring for HIV-infected patients. Lectures, seminars, and small group discussions enhance the clinical experience.

Each preceptorship is structured to meet the unique needs of the individual participant based on his or her previous experience, background, geographic location, and time available.
