Mission
The Florida/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center's mission is to ensure that physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dentists, pharmacists, and other health care professionals in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands receive state-of-the-art information, training, and consultation on the prevention and treatment of HIV and AIDS.
Central Office
The Florida/Caribbean AETC central office operates within the USF Center for HIV Education and Research at the University of South Florida's (USF's) College of Behavioral and Community Sciences; Department of Mental Health Law and Policy, in collaboration with the USF College of Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Internal Medicine, the Department of Pediatrics, and the Department of Psychiatry.
Training Partners
The Florida/Caribbean AETC works collaboratively with the University of South Florida, the University of Puerto Rico, the University of Florida, the University of Miami, the University of the Virgin Islands and Florida A&M University to provide faculty and clinical training sites throughout the region.
National AETC Program
The AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) Program of the Ryan White Program currently supports a network of 11 regional centers (and more than 130 associated sites) that conduct targeted, multi-disciplinary education and training programs for health care providers treating persons with HIV/AIDS. The Florida/Caribbean AETC serves Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Faculty
Florida/Caribbean AETC faculty represent a diverse group of HIV care providers. They serve as authors for our HIV CareLink Newsletter, HIV/AIDS Primary Care Guide, and all clinical resources. AETC Faculty also develop and present our HIV/AIDS programs in the region.

The AETC maintains a mailing list to alert clinicians about HIV/AIDS Conferences and events, and to deliver the latest treatment guidelines. Use our mailing list form to also sign up for the HIV CareLink Newsletter which is sent via e-mail.
